Outlets and overflows are an integral part to waterproofing. These custom-built accessories are made to suit a variety of functions from expelling water off your deck area to attaching solar panels to your flat roof. The outlets need to be compatible with the type of roof membrane, they need to be designed to connect correctly to the chosen substrate and they need to be sized to suit the drainage needs. An outlet also needs to prevent large objects from entering and blocking the drain.
On an enclosed flat roof, it is important to have a backup plan in the form of an overflow. Blockage of the primary outlet is always a possibility. Overflows offer a temporary secondary method of draining the roof.
